1998

The beginnings in 1998 were modest, as Le Planteur was hidden at the far end of a narrow and bumpy lane in Yangon. Finding the restaurant was almost like going on a treasure hunt.
EIGHT YEARS LATER

The restaurant was relocated to a beautiful mansion on Kabar Aye pagoda road. This was the second life of Le Planteur, with a new challenge into the next level of quality!

TODAY

Le Planteur is an institution — Myanmar’s most iconic fine-dining destination since 1998. Set in a 1902 heritage mansion by Inya Lake, it brings together two distinctive restaurants: Gourmet by Le Planteur, where modern haute cuisine meets creativity, and Bistro by Le Planteur, celebrating relaxed French bistronomy amid tropical gardens. More than dining, Le Planteur is a timeless experience of taste, history, and style in the heart of Yangon.

I arrived in Myanmar in 1997 and never quite found the way back. Le Planteur began soon after — born of challenge, carried by beauty, luck, and the right people.
