History

1998

The beginnings in 1998 were modest, as Le Planteur was hidden at the far end of a narrow and bumpy lane in Yangon. Finding the restaurant was almost like going on a treasure hunt.

EIGHT YEARS LATER

The restaurant was relocated to a beautiful mansion on Kabar Aye pagoda road. This was the second life of Le Planteur, with a new challenge into the next level of quality!

TODAY

Le Planteur is located in an heritage house of 1902 by Inya Lake in Yangon. The restaurant allies Asian twist of flavors including new accents in modern European & Indochine fine dining.

The picturesque mansion hosting Le Planteur is still own by the daughter of Mahn Ba Khaing, school mate at St Francis school of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. Mahn Ba Khaing bravely participated in the fight against Japanese troops and exerted immeasurable energy for national solidarity and independence, thus earning the respect of Bogyoke Aung San. He also strived for emergence of Anti-Fascist People’s Freedom League. He, along with other leaders, was assassinated at 10:37 am on 19 July 1947. Mahn Ba Khaing is one of the 9 martyred leaders of Myanmar. 19-July is a national public holiday in Myanmar since then.
